Medford RadioShack Expected to Close
Local store is among 17 across the island set to shut after company declares bankruptcy. Check out the full list here.

Seventeen Long Island RadioShack locations, including the Medford store at 2799 Route 112, are expected to close by the end of March after the company filed bankruptcy last week.
RadioShack has announced that it will be closing more than 1,700 stores after declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month, according to Fox Business.
The company has reached an agreement with General Wireless Inc. for it to acquire between 1,500 and 2,400 RadioShack U.S. Company-owned stores, according to a release.

Sprint will take over up to 1,750 of those stores, according to Fox Business.
In total, RadioShack has about 4,000 stores in the U.S.

RadioShack is in the process of liquidating merchandise at about 2,100 different stores, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“These steps are the culmination of a thorough process intended to drive maximum value for our stakeholders,” said Joe Magnacca, RadioShack’s chief executive officer in a release.

- 222 Airport Plaza Boulevard, Farmingdale
- 6259 Route 25A Space 9, Wading River
- 1800 Veterans Memorial Highway, Islandia
- 2140 Sunrise Mall, Massapequa
- 996 Carmans Road, Massapequa
- 1138 Deer Park Avenue, North Babylon
- 751 Montauk Highway, East Patchogue
- 10195 Main Road, Mattituck
