MEDFORD, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Wayne Morales nominated his wife, Samantha Morales.

Here's what Wayne had to say about Samantha:

She goes out of her way everyday to make sure OTHERS are taken care of. She feeds families, provides diapers wipes and formula. She gave out over 400 backpacks to kids for school. She started a non-profit called Branches Long Island in only 2019!! One thing to know: I have never seen someone put everyone else’s needs before their own. She would literally give you the shirt off her back. She raises four kids, works two jobs and still spends 80 hours a week volunteering time to make sure her non-profit runs smoothly.

Thanks for all that you do Samantha Morales!
