
The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:
Numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms will move through the region late this afternoon into evening. A few of these storms could be strong to severe with isolated damaging wind gusts. In addition,
areas of minor urban and poor drainage flooding are likely, with localized flash flooding possible.
The NWS has also issued a special statement for northwest Suffolk County.
