Special Weather Statement Issued For Long Island

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:

Gusty west winds will develop early this morning across the Tri-State and continue through the entire day. Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected. These gusts could bring down isolated small tree limbs and possibly some power lines. These gusts could continue into Thursday.

Wednesday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.

Thursday- Partly sunny, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Breezy, with a northwest wind 17 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Thursday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 20. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 20 mph.

Friday- Sunny, with a high near 30. Northwest wind 15 to 17 mph.

Friday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 19.

Saturday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 31.

Saturday Night- A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Sunday- A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32.

Sunday Night- A 30 percent chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
