Suffolk Ranked 15th Healthiest County in New York
The 2015 County Health Rankings published by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation have been released.

Suffolk County is the 15th healthiest county in New York State, according to a report released Wednesday.
Suffolk cracked the top 10 in overall health factors where it was ranked seventh in health behaviors, sixth in social and economic factors, and fifth for physical environment.
The county’s lowest performing categories were quality of life, where it was ranked 23rd, and clinical care, where it ranked 32nd. The county was also No. 11 in premature death.

Nearby Nassau County was ranked at No. 5 while Queens and Brooklyn were 12th and 43rd, respectively.
The 2015 County Health Rankings, published online by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, use data and analysis that allows counties to see what it is that makes residents sick or healthy, and how they compare to other counties in the same state.
