SUV Driver Wanted for Striking Pedestrian in Mastic Beach

Woman suffers fractured pelvis in hit-and-run accident

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives seeks the public’s assistance to identify and locate the driver of an SUV that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene in Mastic Beach.

A female pedestrian was walking on Pineway Avenue, just east of Mill Drive, when she was struck by a dark-colored SUV at about 8 p.m. on Jan. 23. The driver of the SUV, which was traveling eastbound on Pineway Avenue at the time of the accident, fled the scene. The SUV was last seen making a right turn onto southbound Stackyard Drive in Mastic Beach.

The 22-year-old victim was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue, where she was treated for numerous injuries including a fractured pelvis.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. All calls will be kept confidential.
