Long Island Weather: 6 Inches Of Snow Possible Saturday

UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Long Island
Remember yesterday, when we told you the first accumulating snow of the season was possible on Long Island this weekend but that it wouldn't be much of anything? In fact, there was only a 55 percent chance of any snow accumulating.
Well, that forecast has changed.
The National Weather Service now predicts the island will see three to six inches of snow Saturday, with the highest amounts in Suffolk County. A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for the entire island and a winter storm advisory will likely be issued, the NWS says.
Snow is expected to begin by Saturday afternoon and continue through the night. There remains some uncertainty in terms of the track, strength and timing of storm, the NWS says.

The full forecast:
Thursday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind 8 to 13 mph.
Friday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. West wind 7 to 9 mph.
Friday Night- A 20 percent chance of snow after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 29. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
Saturday- Snow likely, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Saturday Night- Snow likely, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 34. West wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Sunday- Partly sunny, with a high near 38.
Sunday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 25.
