Calhoun High Cancels Coltfest, Reschedules Homecoming Game

Due to heavy rain and strong winds, Calhoun high has cancelled Coltfest and rescheduled homecoming football game to Oct. 3 at 3 p.m.

Calhoun High School has cancelled Coltfest, the school’s annual festival, and has rescheduled its homecoming football game to Saturday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. The decision to change the homecoming was due to a weather forecast indicating wind gusts over 25 mph and heavy rain for Friday afternoon and evening.

“The lights were not designed for winds of that velocity and it would be a safety concern to have them up for a night game under those conditions,” Calhoun Principal Nicole Hollings said.

Coltfest will be moved to another home game later this season.
