Driver Left After Car Struck North Merrick Barber Shop: PD

NORTH MERRICK, NY — The driver of a car that struck a North Merrick barber shop on Wednesday drove away without stopping, Nassau County police said.

Police said dispatchers were notified that a car struck Michael’s Barber Shop on Jerusalem Avenue at about 3:09 p.m. Part of the storefront’s facade and a glass window appeared to be damaged by the strike as police investigators and firefighters examined the scene. No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing, a police spokesman said. No further information was immediately available from police.
