Firefighters Battle House Fire In Merrick

It took more than four hours to get the blaze under control.

MERRICK, NY — A house was filled with thick smoke as flames engulfed a residential property at 1771 Meadowbrook Road, Nassau Police told Patch.

A call came into police Sunday morning.

There were no injuries as no one was home at the time of the fire, a police spokesperson said.

The fire was extinguished at 3:19 p.m. and no cause was determined, police said.

It will be investigated by the fire marshal.
