Free Trips Offered On NICE Link to Promote 'Uber-Like' Service

Service is free from Aug. 20-31 to introduce the new address-to-address, on-demand, shared ride NICE Link.

From August 20-31, NICE Bus will offer free service on its new NICE Link to introduce riders to the unique “Uber-like” on-demand, shared ride, address-to-address service.

NICE Link runs weekdays during the peak hours of 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. within a zone bordered by Hempstead Turnpike, Merrick Road, the Meadowbrook Parkway and the Wantagh Parkway. It serves the Freeport, Bellmore and Merrick LIRR stations.

NICE Link can be accessed on NICE’s bus transit app, GoMobile, where riders can book and pay for trips and get ride information. During the promotion, riders should click on the “cash” payment option and your driver will not collect a fare.

Link is available to Able-Ride paratransit customers as service is provided on 26-foot shuttle type vehicles that are wheelchair accessible. After the two-week free service promotion, the regular fare will be $4.50 anywhere in the Link zone.

GoMobile for iPhone is available at the App Store and for Android at Google Play Store.
