Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Nassau County and western Suffolk County:

A few thunderstorms late today into this evening may produce damaging wind gusts and/or heavy rain capable of causing urban and poor drainage flooding.

The full forecast:

Monday Night- A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 8pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Increasing clouds, with a low around 63. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday- A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. Northwest wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday- Sunny, with a high near 79. Northwest wind around 9 mph.

Wednesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Thursday- Sunny, with a high near 79.

Thursday Night- Clear, with a low around 60.

Friday- Sunny, with a high near 82.

Friday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Saturday- A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87.

Saturday Night- A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Sunday- Sunny, with a high near 86.
