Swimming Advisory Issued For 19 Nassau Beaches
Stormwater runoff could be polluting the water, making swimming unsafe.

The heavy rain that hit Long Island early Friday has caused the Nassau County Department of Health to issue a bathing advisory for 19 Nassau beaches.
The advisory is effective all day. It was issued as a precaution for beaches that are known to be affected by stormwater runoff caused by heavy rains. According to the Department of Health, stormwater runoff can increase bacteria levels in the water, making it unsafe for swimming.
The North Shore beaches that are affected are:

- Centre Island Sound – Bayville
- Creek Club – Lattingtown
- Lattingtown Beach – Lattingtown
- Laurel Hollow Beach – Laurel Hollow
- Morgan Sound – Glen Cove
- North Hempstead Beach Park – Port Washington
- Piping Rock Beach Club – Locust Valley
- Pryibil Beach – Glen Cove
- Ransom Beach – Bayville
- Theodore Roosevelt Beach – Oyster Bay
- Sea Cliff Village Beach – Sea Cliff
- Soundside Beach – Bayville
- Stehli Beach – Bayville
- Tappen Beach – Glenwood Landing
The South Shore beaches are:
- Biltmore Beach Club – Massapequa
- Hewlett Point Beach – East Rockaway
- Island Park Beach – Island Park
- Merrick Estates Civic Association – Merrick
- Philip Healey Beach – Massapequa
