ICYMI: Chatterton Students Collect 100 Toys for the Community

The school came together for the annual toy drive to help less fortunate Merrick families.

The student council at Chatterton School in the Merrick School District held its annual toy drive, a school-wide initiative to help less fortunate families in the Merrick community this holiday season.

Students, teachers, staff and administrators purchased approximately 100 new toys for children of all ages, among which were Jenga, a National Geographic telescope, monster trucks and action figures. After all donations had been received, they were delivered to the Kiwanis Club of Merrick to help families in the community have a joyful holiday.

The mission of the student council is to help local families by hosting meaningful drives that give members hands-on experience in helping their community.
