Lidl Opening Merrick Market Next Week
The grocery chain will open its newest store on March 17 in Merrick.

MERRICK, NY — The Lidl grocery chain will be opening its newest Long Island store in Merrick next week.
The chain will celebrate the grand opening of the store, located at 1686 Merrick Road, on March 17. There will be a ribbon cutting at 7:40 a.m. It will be the second store Lidl opened on Long Island in as many weeks, following the opening of its Franklin Square location this week.
Lidl will also partner with the John Theissen Children’s Foundation to raise money for kids in need on Long Island. During the grand opening, Lidl will donate 50 cents to the organization for every new myLidl member who signs up and sets Merrick as their home store.

“I am thrilled to welcome Lidl to Merrick,” said New York Assemblymember Taylor Darling. “The excellent benefits and revolutionized grocery shopping experience is an exciting opportunity for Long Island. I know Lidl is honored to be a part of our local community and will serve it well.”
The first 100 shoppers at the grand opening event will be presented with Lidl gift cards, ranging from $5 to $100. There will also be a Lidl food truck on site where shoppers can sample snacks and juice.

Following the grand opening, the Merrick store will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
