LIRR Suspends Babylon Branch Service
Police are investigating an incident near Merrick, and the trains are shut down. Service will resume when police have finished.
The Babylon Line of the LIRR is currently shut down due to police activity, the MTA said.
The LIRR said that there were unauthorized people on the tracks and the police were working to apprehend them. Because of the police activity, the Babylon Branch is closed in both directions.
The MTA said service will be restored as soon as the police have completed their investigation.
