Local American Idol Finalist Opens for Shawn Mendes at The Paramount

It is one big accomplishment to make it into the Top 16 on American Idol and a whole and another to open up for a rising star like Shawn Mendes. However a local singer from Merrick who was on Idol season 10 did just that last Wednesday (June 10th). To a sold out crowd at The Paramount NY in Huntington, NY Robbie Rosen and his band were of one the opening acts for 16 year old teen sensation Mendes.

Before hitting the big stage Mendes was a member of the MagCon social media tour and opened for Austin Mahone. Shawn Recently released his debut album Handwritten which hit #1 on the US charts. Opening up for Shawn was awesome according to Rosen who also got to hang out with Shawn and Jake Miller back stage between sets.
The crowd was also very hyped when Rosen and the other performers were on stage. A bunch of lucky people also got to meet Rosen in the hallway of the venue where he held a Free Meet and Greet for fans who wanted to say hi, take pictures or even get signed merchandise. The show was definitely a big success.
