Merrick Budget Vote Hours Extended

The Merrick Board of Education is giving residents an extra hour to go to the polls Tuesday night.

MERRICK, NY — Residents are set to go to the polls Tuesday to decide on the Merrick Union Free School District budget. But, thanks, to the Merrick Board of Education, they will have an extra hour to make that determination.

The board voted to keep the polls open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m at the Levy Lakeside school's administrative center. It's at 21 Babylon Road.

The proposed budget would bring a 3 percent increase from the previous year. The total revenue, if approved, would be $54.5 million.
