Merrick Gables Cafe Opens

Jessica Abrams of Merrick said that it is hard to find a decent lunch on Merrick Road, so she tried a brand new eatery on Friday afternoon.

Abrams enjoyed the "Brian's Choice," a wrap with chicken, mozzarella, guacamole and more, at Merrick Gables Cafe, located at 2203 Merrick Road, on its opening day. 

"It was really good and it had a lot of my favorite things in it," she said. 

Owner Brian Sztabnik said that it feels wonderful to finally be open.

"It's been a really long time coming, but we reached our goal and we opened," he said. "We are ready to give people what they are waiting for."

The cafe offers counter service, seating and WiFi. It also serves an array of foods and drinks such as paninis, crepes, salads, wraps, hot dogs, smoothies, coffees and teas.  

When Abrams finished her lunch, she stopped and spoke to Sztabnik.

"That was really good and you will be successful," she said. I believe in you."
