Merrick To Hold Memorial Day Ceremony At Veteran Memorial Park

MERRICK, NY — A solemn day is expected in honoring fallen veterans at the annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday. The event will be organized by Merrick American Legion Post #1282.

Members of the American Legion and auxiliary members are set to assemble at Veteran Memorial Park at 10 a.m, the local American Legion wrote on their website.

The event is slated to start at 10:30 a.m.

The park is at the corner of Merrick Avenue and Lee Avenue, across the street from Camp Avenue Elementary School.

The ceremony will take place rain or shine with COVID-19 protocols in place. The organizing group asks people attending to bring a mask and a chair.
