MERRICK, NY — Merrick is about to get a new Italian joint, according to a report.
Mio Posto, with a location on West Beech Street in Long Beach, will open a new location this week in Merrick, Newsday reported. The official grand opening will be held Saturday.
Owner Guy Savia told the newspaper the reputation of Mio Posto is "second to none."

Conveniently located near the Merrick train station, the new eatery will open on the site of Savia's now-closed Savoy Tavern near Merrick Avenue and Broadcast Plaza.
According to the Long Beach location's menu, patrons can expect to see entrees including Chilean seabass, Norwegian salmon, grilled pork chops, eggplant, veal cutlets, stuffed chicken, lobster tortellini and risotto, among others.
