John Brooks Fends Off Challenge For 8th Senate District
BREAKING: See who won in the race between incumbent Democrat John Brooks and Republican Jeffrey Pravato.
The results are in for the 8th Senate District race, and Democrat incumbent John Brooks has defeated a challenge from Republican Jeffrey Pravato.
With 90 percent of results in, Brooks was up with 54,336 votes to Pravato's 45,808 in preliminary results Tuesday night.
The 8th Senate District encompasses Freeport, Bellmore, Merrick, North Bellmore, North Merrick, Roosevelt, Seaford, Wantagh, East Massapequa, Amityville, and Copiague, and parts of Farmingdale, Baldwin, Massapequa, Hempstead and Wyandanch.
