Sofia Mescolotto Selected to Play in

2018 National Lacrosse Academy

Sofia Mescolotto, daughter of Mike and Alyson Mescolotto and sister to fraternal twin brother Max, a rising 8th grader at Merrick Avenue Middle School has been named as a 2018 Maverik National Lacrosse All-Star and has been selected to attend the Maverik National Lacrosse Academy to be held July 16-19, 2018 in Frederica, Delaware at the DE Turf Sportsplex. This is Sofia’s 2nd trip the National Lacrosse Classic as she was a member of the 2017 Long Island Team for the age group graduating high school in 2023-24. Twenty girls from across Long Island will be representing their respective towns in the 2022-23 flight of teams from across the United States. Our girls first round opponents will be Garden State, New England, Georgia, and Wisconsin with ultimate goal being a rematch with Maryland in the Championship.

The Maverik National Lacrosse Academy brings the top youth lacrosse players in the United States and Canada to one venue, where regional teams, coached by NCAA lacrosse coaches, compete to become the 2018 National Champion.

The Maverik National Lacrosse Academy is the first-of-its-kind lacrosse experience created to provide a curriculum focused on how a young lacrosse athlete should develop in order to compete at a top high school and collegiate lacrosse program.
