Decoupage Lantern
We will be using different colored tissue paper shapes to cover a
large free standing lantern. You will learn the process of decoupage.
Week 2: 7/9, 7/10
Glass Etching
You will learn about positive and negative space. You will then create artwork onto a glass bowl with a masking technique and etching cream.
Week 3: 7/16, 7/17
Encaustic Painting
Melted wax art using different tools dipping into melted crayon to create impressionistic art
Week 4: 7/23, 7/24
Caning Design
Learn the art of creating polymer clay canes, slicing and placing pieces on Terracotta pots. Then they are baked and then clear glazed.
Week 5: 7/30, 7/31
Wool felting on blanket
Learn the art of needle felting. We will be using Natural roving that I acquired while in Scotland, and in addition dyed Roving of assorted colors.Roving Is the Raw wool From sheep before it is spun into yarn. They will create their own design onto a felt Throw blanket.
Week 6: 8/6, 8/7
Wood Burning on Box
A design will be applied to the wooden box panels by using Transfer process with graphite paper.They will then get to use Wood burning tools to engrave that design into the wood panels. The wooden box will then be constructed after All panels are complete.If time Artwork can also be stained.
Week 7: 8/13, 8/14
Wood Sculpture
Artist Louise Nevelson Inspired Artwork will be created around the mirror. The use of varied wooden shapes will be attached to the mirror frame. The completed artwork ill be painted out In one solid color. Either all white or all black.
Week 8: 8/20, 8/21
Papermaking
Week 9: 8/27, 8/28 - Repeat of week 1
