6 Injured In Early-Morning Hell's Kitchen Fire
Wednesday morning's fire above a Mexican restaurant sent six people to the hospital. All are expected to survive.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Six people were injured early Wednesday when a fire broke out above a Mexican restaurant in a Hell's Kitchen apartment building, authorities said.
Around 1:19 a.m., crews responded to reports of a fire on the second and third floors of 401 West 50th St., a five-story building on the corner of Ninth Avenue that houses Rancho Tequileria on its ground floor.
It took 106 firefighters just under an hour to get the fire under control. Three residents and three firefighters were all hospitalized with minor injuries.

An 83-year-old woman who was asleep in her fifth-floor apartment when the fire broke out had to be lifted to safety using a cherry-picker, W42ST reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Other residents who had been evacuated from the building were allowed to return around 5 a.m., ABC7 reported.
