Construction Shuts Down 34th Street Between 7th and 8th Avenues
Commuters should be on the alert for a shutdown in Midtown on Thursday morning.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Commuters should be on the alert for a shutdown in busy Midtown on Thursday morning.
The city's Office of Emergency Management warned both drivers and pedestrians that West 34th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues will be closed due to construction from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. — right in the middle of the morning commute.
OEM is warning people to avoid the area, and consider alternate routes to get to work in the morning.
