David Fizdale To Become Knicks Head Coach, Reports Say
The former Memphis Grizzlies' head coach will reportedly sign a four-year contract with the Knicks.

NEW YORK, NY - The New York Knicks will hire David Fizdale to be the team's new head coach, according to multiple reports.
Fizdale will sign a four-year contract with the team, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported. Fizdale previously helmed the Memphis Grizzlies before being fired from the team 19 games into the 2018 season.
Fizdale's resume includes assistant coaching positions with the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat. Fizdale won two NBA Championships during his tenure with the Heat. His head coaching record during his two-year stint in Memphis was 50 wins and 51 losses. The Grizzlies had one of the worst records in the NBA in 2018, finishing at 22 wins and 60 losses.

The Knicks fired former head coach Jeff Hornacek on April 12 after two years with the team. The Knicks also axed Assistant Head Coach Kurt Rambis, who had briefly served as interim head coach before Hornacek was hired in June 2016. Hornacek's record with the Knicks was a paltry 60 wins and 104 losses.
Other names that surfaced during the Knicks' head coaching included former Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy, former Knicks point guard Mark Jackson and former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt.
