Dell Founder Buys $100M Midtown Penthouse: Reports

Michael Dell's net worth is an estimated $23.3 billion.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — It's called billionaire's row for a reason. Michael Dell, the founder and CEO of Texas-based Dell Technologies, has been revealed as the buyer of a $100 million penthouse in the super-tall One57 building on West 57th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues, according to multiple reports.

Dell purchased the penthouse for $100.47 million in a deal that closed in 2014, the Wall Street Journal first reported. Four years later, the deal still holds the record of being the most expensive single residence ever sold in New York City, the Journal reported.

The duplex penthouse is nearly 11,000 square feet large and contains six bedrooms and bathrooms, the Wall Street Journal reported. The unit is the latest in Dell's expansive real estate holdings, which includes a $40 million penthouse in the Four Seasons Boston, a $10.9 million condo in Boston's Millennium Tower and an expansive property on the Kona Coast of Hawaii, CNBC reported.
