Developers File Plans For 7-Story Hell's Kitchen Building

The new residential development will contain 28 apartments.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Developers have filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to construct a new residential building in Hell's Kitchen, according to public records.

The new development will rise 66-feet-tall on 443 W. 54th St. between Ninth and 10th avenues, according to building plans. The building will contain 28 apartments, according to the plans.

With 32,725 square feet of space zoned for residential use, the average apartment will be about 1,168 square feet large, according to development plans. There will be no commercial or community facility spaces in the new building.

Planned residential amenities include a first-floor lobby and courtyard, a play room, a meditation room, and roof terraces accessible by top-floor apartments.

The building site is currently vacant, which means construction may begin as soon as the city Department of Buildings issues permits. It's unclear when the building is expected to open.
