Elderly Hell's Kitchen Woman Is Found Safe: Police

A 74-year-old woman who went missing from Hell's Kitchen has been found, police said.

Update, 9 a.m. Friday, June 4: Palaquibay has been found safe, police said.


HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Police on Thursday asked for help finding an elderly woman who was last seen Wednesday at a playground in Hell's Kitchen.

Lucrecia Palaquibay, 74, was seen around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Matthews-Palmer Playground, on West 45th Street between Ninth and 10th avenues.

Palaquibay lives on Eighth Avenue between 50th and 51st streets, police said.

She was described as a Hispanic woman, about 5 feet, 3 inches tall with a thin build, weighing about 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing a brown windbreaker jacket, red and white sneakers, black pants and a red cap.

Police shared photos of Palaquibay, including one that shows her on Wednesday.
