Free Hell's Kitchen Events Coming To Hudson River Park This Year

Jazz concerts and tai chi classes are among the free programs coming to a Hell's Kitchen pier from this week into the fall.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — Hudson River Park on Wednesday unveiled its slate of in-person programs for the coming summer, including free events in Hell's Kitchen and all along the West Side.

Starting this month and running through November, the lineup marks the return of in-person events to Hudson River Park, the four-mile waterfront greenway that had suspended most live events during the pandemic.

In Hell's Kitchen, the most frequent event will be Jazz at Pier 84, held every other week at 7 p.m. on the pier at West 44th Street. Here's the lineup of performers:

  • Jun 16 - Whitney Marchelle
  • Jun 30 - ZonaVibe
  • July 14 - Sylvia Cuenca
  • July 28 - Steve Blum and the Molecular Organ Trio
  • Aug. 11 - Bertha Hope 5tet
  • Aug. 25 - Abdou Mboup & Waakaw
  • Sept. 8 - Firey String Sistas!
  • Sept. 22 - TC THE 3RD

Also on Pier 84 will be weekly tai chi, held Fridays starting this week through Oct. 1.

Dance in HRPK — Pier 45 at Christopher Street| Tuesdays, June 8-Oct. 26. Beginner lessons at 6:30 PM, Open Dance at 7:15 PM:

  • Sept 7.-Oct. 26 - Sunset Salsa (virtual)

HRPK’s River Project Wetlab — Pier 40 at W Houston St | Open July-October:

  • "Hudson River Park’s River Project is dedicated to protecting the Park’s 400-acre Estuarine Sanctuary and engaging the local community in environmental science and stewardship. The Park’s Pier 40 is also home to the River Project Wetlab, a unique working lab that features a flow-through Hudson River aquarium system that provides a look into the many species that call the Hudson home."
