Get Vaccinated Atop The Empire State Building, Cuomo Offers

The Empire State Building's 86th-floor observatory will serve as a temporary vaccine site this weekend, the state's latest incentive.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — New Yorkers who still haven't received their coronavirus vaccine can get one atop the Empire State Building this weekend, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced — the latest incentive being offered to residents in an effort to end the pandemic.

The vaccine site will be open on the Empire State Building's 86th-floor observatory from Friday through Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day. It is run in partnership with SOMOS Community Care.

The first 100 people who get vaccinated at the site will get a free ticket to the observatory, according to the state.

"Our creative vaccine site locations and incentive programs have succeeded in getting more New Yorkers to come in and roll up their sleeve, and we are continuing this creative approach with these two new sites in New York City," Cuomo said in a statement, also announcing a new site at the College of Staten Island.
