Hell's Kitchen Restaurant Earns Its 1st Michelin Star

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A Hell's Kitchen restaurant is among seven establishments in New York that were awarded their first Michelin stars this year, joining the ranks of elite eateries to receive the sought-after honor.
Kochi, a Korean restaurant on 10th Avenue near West 46th Street, received one star in this year's Michelin Guide, which was announced on Thursday.
The restaurant's name means "skewer," a nod to Kochi's specialties, which revolve around meat and vegetables pierced on skewers and "meant to be eaten with your hands," Michelin writes.

The vibe inside Kochi is "boisterous," with happy crowds and friendly, efficient service, Michelin writes. The guide recommends Kochi's pine-nut-and-potato-milk soup, sweet-potato-and-sunchoke gratin, salmon bibimbap mingles pollock roe, toasted nori with brown soy-butter rice, and a dessert of black sesame ice cream.
"We’re so ecstatic about the news and can’t wait to see you all again soon," Kochi wrote in an Instagram post Thursday.
