Here Are 2 More Restaurants Coming To Hell's Kitchen
A new eatery at Worldwide Plaza and a second location for a famous gay bar are both coming to Hell's Kitchen in the coming months.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A dog-friendly cafe in the Worldwide Plaza complex and a new outpost of a prominent gay bar are both coming to Hell's Kitchen in the coming months.
The pair of businesses were both presented Wednesday to Community Board 4's business license and permits committee as their owners sought the board's approval to obtain alcohol licenses.
They come on top of another seven new restaurants and bars that Patch reported on last month — a sign, perhaps, of the industry's resurgence after a crippling pandemic year.

- Described as a "family- and dog-friendly restaurant," Barking Dog will move into the open space within the Worldwide Plaza complex that was formerly home to Mother Burger. It will be a second location for the restaurant, which has been open on the Upper East Side since the 1990s.
- Barking Dog will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with 14 tables that seat 30 customers — plus a bar.
REBAR (692 10th Ave., between West 48th and 49th streets)
- REBAR will be a second location for the famous Chelsea gay bar of the same name, on West 19th Street. Owned by the same group, it will represent an expansion for the longtime bar, which had previously been known as G Lounge since the 1990s. In 2017, it faced scrutiny amid allegations that patrons had been racially profiled by bouncers.
- REBAR will move into the storefront that formerly housed Perdition, an Irish pub.
- Featuring a DJ and live music, the bar will be open daily: Thursday–Saturday, 4 p.m.–4 a.m., and Sunday–Wednesday, 4 p.m.–2 a.m.
Applicants did not say when either business was slated to open.
The board moved to recommend that the State Liquor Authority approve both of the businesses' applications.
