Here's How to Get Free UberPOOL Rides Starting Nov. 26

MIDTOWN, NY — Uber wants you to know it's celebrating Small Business Saturday on Nov. 26 with different versions of free and discounted rides.

From Nov. 26 through the end of 2016, Manhattan riders get their first UberPOOL ride for free by typing the promo code SHOPSMALL2016 into the app.

Plus, all throughout Nov. 26th, Uber will offer UberPOOL rides for free for American Express Card members by typing the promo code SMALLBIZSAT into the app.

Small Business Saturday is that American Express-created holiday meant to celebrate small businesses. It's smack dab in the middle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

There are over 690,000 people employed with businesses that are under 20 employees alone in New York City, according to a 2014 state report on small businesses.

American Express has put together a map of small businesses in the New York City area, for a start.

The NYC Department of Small Business Services has also put together an online directory of small businesses where you can search for local minority and women-owned businesses throughout the city.
