Houston Rockets Owner Lists Midtown Apartment For $21.5 Million

The 44th floor apartment is located in the Baccarat Hotel building on West 53rd Street.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Billionaire businessman and Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander is putting his Midtown Manhattan apartment up for sale for $21.5 million.

The apartment unit, located on the 44th floor of the Baccarat Hotel & Residences on West 53rd Street, measures 4,545 square feet and contains four bedrooms, four bathrooms, according to a Douglas Elliman listing.

Alexander bought the luxurious apartment for $20.6 million in 2015, the Real Deal reported. If the apartment sells for the current asking price of $21.5 million the property would be a successful, if modest by billionaire's standards, investment for Alexander. Alexander has amassed a fortune of $1.9 billion since dropping out of law school at the age of 21 to pursue investment banking, according to Forbes.

Most of his current wealth is locked up in the Houston Rockets, which are worth an estimated $1.5 billion, Forbes reported. Leslie bought the team in 1993 for $85 million.

The future owner of the apartment will be entitled to the luxurious amenities that come with living in the Baccarat, including access to the Baccarat Bar, the Spa de la Mer, a fitness center, valet parking and round-the-clock doorman service, according to the Douglas Elliman listing.
