Looking for a Vacay Spot? Try Solly Assa's Cassa Puerto Vallarta

Solly Assa's new venture will open in Mexico towards the end of 2020. The property will spa services, child care, and a fitness center.

Solly Assa, founder and CEO of New York-based Assa Properties, recently announced plans to develop the third property of his award-winning Cassa brand: Cassa Hotels and Residences at Puerto Vallarta. This be Cassa’s first entry outside the United States.

“Keeping in line with the Cassa brand – a combination of ‘Casa,’ home in Spanish, and Assa – Cassa will be a ‘home away from home’ for guests and residents in Puerto Vallarta,” said Solly.

Though Cassa Puerto Vallarta follows in the mold of its sister projects in New York, Solly Assa and his team have taken local strengths and attractions into consideration. For one, the development will be located in prime territory near the stunning Mexican Pacific coast, a tantalizing combination of sun, sand, mountain, and sea. Residents and guests alike will be able to enjoy the best of all worlds: stunning scenery, a vibrant culture, abundant outdoor pursuits, bustling nightlife, and of course, the laidback life for which Puerto Vallarta is rightly famous.

With its 300 condos and 150 hotel rooms, Cassa Puerto Vallarta, in keeping with the Cassa brand, will be a “home away from home.” Both residents and visitors can enjoy the many amenities, including maid service, trendy nightclubs and high-end restaurants, outdoor pools, a beach club, watersport rentals, among many others. All services are ala carte; residents can pick and choose, and will not have to pay flat fees for unused amenities.

This model was developed and perfected by Solly Assa in the other Cassa properties, both of which are located in Manhattan. Cassa Times Square, located on 9th Avenue and 39th Street, features 108 rental residences and 100 guest rooms. The property features a lovely roof deck with loungers, lawn space, a jacuzzi, and sweeping views of New York’s western edge and the Hudson. It also houses Bar Gonzo, which was featured in the New York Times. The 1970s-themed lounge and eatery is modeled after the fearless, tropical travels of Hunter S. Thompson.

Designed by world-class architects Enrique Norten and CetraRuddy, Cassa NYC Hotel and Residences is located in Midtown Manhattan, with 165 guest rooms and 21 floors of rental and condo units. The highlight is undoubtedly the penthouses, each designed and decorated according to a Showtime TV series, from Dexter to Weeds, and each with private, key-operated elevators and an unparalleled panorama of the Manhattan skyline. On the ground floor is Butter, run by successful restaurateurs Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano, and is helmed by none other than former Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli.

Cassa Puerto Vallarta is the first step in Assa Properties’ international expansion. Construction will begin in early 2019, and is anticipated to conclude by the end of 2020. In the interim, Solly Assa and his staff continue to plan other Cassa developments, both resorts and more traditional, urban high-rise buildings. In particular, Solly Assa is excited about bringing Cassa’s unique brand of hotel and luxury living to new and exciting locations around the globe.
