Man Hit With Traffic Tube In Random Hell's Kitchen Attack: Police
Video shows a man being smacked in the head with a traffic tube in the unprovoked Hell's Kitchen attack. Police are searching for a suspect.
HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A man was randomly attacked in Hell's Kitchen last week by a man who hit him on the head with a plastic traffic tube and then fled across the street, police said.
The attack happened around 10:55 p.m. on May 20, on West 47th Street between Ninth and 10th avenues.
The 47-year-old victim — reportedly a food delivery worker — was standing next to his bike when the unidentified suspect approached him from behind and smacked him with the base of the traffic tube.

Police released surveillance footage of the bizarre incident, showing the victim crumple to the ground as the assailant jogs across the street.
The man suffered cuts to the head and was taken to Belelvue Hospital in stable condition. The suspect fled south along Ninth Avenue toward 42nd Street, police said.
