Man Shouts Homophobic Slurs, Pulls Box Cutter on Couple in Midtown

Police said the two men were threatened with death walking near Penn Station on July 11.

Police are looking for a man who shouted homophobic slurs and then pulled a box cutter on a couple in Midtown.

A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were walking in the area of 33rd Street and Eighth Avenue on July 11 when they were approached by a man shouting homophobic slurs at them, according to the NYPD. When the victims confronted the suspect about his comments, the suspect pulled out a box cutter and threatened to kill the couple.

The couple called 911 and the suspect fled into Penn Station.

Police describe the suspect as a black man in his 40s, 5-foot-7 and about 180 pounds, with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a green shirt, dark pants and glasses.
