Man Sitting In Midtown Plaza Attacked By Group, Police Say
A man sitting at Greeley Square Park was attacked in broad daylight Tuesday by men wielding a baseball bat and a chair, police said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A man sitting at a pedestrian plaza in Midtown was attacked in broad daylight Tuesday by three men, according to police.
The assault happened around 12:18 p.m. Tuesday as the victim sat on a folding chair on the northeast corner of West 33rd Street and Broadway — the site of a pedestrian plaza that borders Greeley Square Park.
Three men approached him: one hit him multiple times with a baseball bat, another hit him with a chair and the third man took out a sharp object and stabbed him in the back, according to police.

Police did not say whether the assailants knew the victim.
The victim was taken in stable condition to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated for the stab wound as well as pain, cuts and bruising.
