Man Tries Using Woman's Credit Card After Her Wallet Disappears in Midtown: Police
The cards were in the victim's wallet at the time it went missing, police said.
MIDTOWN, NY — A woman who was at the West 42nd St. and 8th Ave. subway station on Halloween day noticed that her wallet disappeared — and it had nothing to do with innocent Halloween tricks.
The woman was unable to immediately track down her wallet, but the story continued to unfold as the day went on. A man unsuccessfully attempted to use one of the debit or credit cards in the Bronx later that day, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
The cards were in the victim's wallet at the time it went missing, police said. A police spokesperson told Patch that the card was declined when the suspect tried to purchase shoes at a store located at 2034 Jerome Ave. in the Bronx.
