Mexican Day Parade NYC: What You Need to Know

Find out which streets will be closed and more.

NEW YORK, NY — Mexican Independence Day is this Sunday, when crowds of proud Latinos will flood the streets of Midtown Manhattan for the annual parade.

Marchers will travel down Madison Avenue from 38th Street to 27th Street, between noon and 4 p.m., to celebrate this historic day that occurred more than 200 years ago in one of our nation’s closest neighboring countries.

Here’s a look at road closures you can expect during the event:

  • Madison Avenue between 38th and 27th streets
  • 27th Street between Fifth and Park avenues
  • 37th Street between Fifth and Park avenues
  • 39th Street between Fifth and Park avenues

The parade will likely cause severe congestion in the surrounding area as traffic is interrupted. Drivers should take caution if they plan to be in the vicinity Sunday afternoon.
