Multiple Demolitions Planned On Midtown Corner Lot
Three existing buildings on the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 34th Street could be coming down soon.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A developer has filed plans to raze three buildings on a Midtown Manhattan corner lot in what could be a precursor to a larger construction project on the site.
Development firm Vornado Realty Trust filed plans to demolish 267 W. 34th St., 480 Eighth Ave. and 486 Eighth Ave. — all located on the corner of West 34th Street and Eighth Avenue — in late October, according to city Department of Buildings records.
The three buildings are all four-story structures and they will be demolished by hand-held equipment, according to the demolition plans.

Once all three buildings are demolished, Vornado will own a sizable lot on the busy Midtown Manhattan street corner just one block north of Penn Station.
When the demolition work is expected to occur or how long it will take was not detailed in plans filed with the City Department of Buildings.
