New York City's Most Expensive Home of the Year Sold for $88 Million
The building where the penthouse is located has a private restaurant, a concierge, a 75-foot pool, and even its own yoga studio.
MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN — The most expensive sale in New York City so far this year was just made to a Saudi billionaire who bought the 8,255-square-foot penthouse of 432 Park Avenue, the Real Deal reported. Fawaz Al Hokair bought the pad for $87.7 million, or a whopping $10,623 per foot.
Hokair's penthouse boasts six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a fireplace, and heated bathroom floors. The building, designed by architect Rafael Vinoly, is a whole universe in and of itself. It has its own private restaurant, lounge, outdoor terrace, 75-foot indoor swimming pool, fitness center, library, spa, screen room, conference room, children's playroom, yoga studio, room service, concierge, 24-hour doorman, and valet services. It's basically like going on a 4-star vacation... forever.
Al Hokair's net worth is around $1.37 billion, according to Forbes. He's the founder of the most successful real estate and retail company in Saudi Arabia.

While astronomically expensive, Al Hokair's penthouse was not the most expensive one in New York City history. A penthouse on the 89th and 90th floors of One57 went for $100.5 million last year.
