NYC Pride And Edgar Allen Poe Fest | Manhattan Weekend Events

Celebrate NYC Pride. Explore the world of science. Get down to some funky beats. All this and more in Manhattan this weekend.

MANHATTAN, NY — Thousands will descend on Manhattan this Sunday for the decades-old NYC Pride March and Festival, the biggest in the country. But that's not all that's happening the borough. Here's what you can do this weekend.

Guerilla Science Sensorium
Neighborhood: New York Harbor
What: Explore your senses during this full-day festival of interactive science activities.
Experience touch through sound, build your own brain or try out an intergalactic yoga class during this two-day festival. Ferries to Governors Island leave every 30 minutes from 10 South St. in Manhattan and every hours Pier 6 in Brooklyn from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Where: Governor’s Island House 407B, Colonel's Row
When: The fun begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Shop Harlem Live Harlem Artisanal Fair
Neighborhood: Harlem
What: Browse through artisanal, Harlem-made goods from more than 50 vendors, munch on something delicious, enjoy live music, take part in an on-site workshop or visit the kids zone at this Manhattan street fair.
Where: St. Nicholas Avenue between 117th and 118th streets
When: Start shopping Saturday at 11 a.m.

Poe, Absinthe, and Gothic Mystery with Sotheby's
Neighborhood: Lower Manhattan
What: A viewing of the first edition of Edgar Allen Poe’s “Tales,” a rare manuscript that will soon be put up for sale by Sotheby’s Auctions, followed by an interactive tasting of Poe’s favorite drink, absinthe. Members of Radiotheatre NYC will also be on hand for dramatic readings of Poe’s famed writings.
Where: The Woolworth Tower Residences, Park Place at Broadway
When: Darkness falls on Saturday at 8 p.m.

BABËL Presents Guy Gerber “Celebrating Summer”
Neighborhood: Midtown
What: A musical celebration of the return of summer summer, with a headlining performance from Guy Gerber, an Israeli techno and house DJ.
Where: Sony Hall, West 46th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues
When: Dance the night away Saturday at 11 p.m.

Johnny Cupcakes x Kellogg's NYC Pride Pop-Up
Neighborhood: Midtown
What: Check out colorful t-shirts from food-themed clothing store Johnny Cupcakes during NYC PrideFest. All who attend will receive exclusive goodies and can enter a raffle to win prizes. Come early for even more freebies.
Where: Kellogg’s NYC, East 17th Street between Broadway and Park Avenue South
When: Sunday at 10 a.m.

NYC PrideFest
Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
What: The 25th annual LGBTQ+ street fair will take over Manhattan this weekend with a barrage of exhibitors, entertainment and activities in celebration of equality. Click here for the full fair map.
Where: University Place between 13th Street and Waverly Place
When: Festivities kick off Sunday at 11 a.m.

NYC Pride March
Neighborhood:
Chelsea, Midtown
What: More than 450 marchers on more than 110 floats will parade down the streets of Manhattan in celebration of equality and the LGBTQ+ community.
Where: Parade begins at 16th Street and Seventh Avenue. Click here for a full look at this year’s route.
When: March for equality on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Free LGBTQ+ Pride Silent Disco With Shake Shack
Neighborhood:
What: Grab a pair of headphone and rock out to your choice of three different types of tunes — top 40 dance hits; 80s, 90s and 2000s throwbacks; or hip-hop, reggae and soca beats — as the NYC Pride parade marches past.
Where: Shake Shack at Madison Square Park
When: Start shaking your booty Sunday at 5 p.m.

LPR X: Giorgio Moroder With Holy Ghost! (DJ Set) & JD Samson
Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
What: A headlining performance from the founder of disco, with support from American synth-pop duo Holy Ghost! and JD Samson.
Where: (Le) Poisson Rouge, Bleecker Street between Thompson and Sullivan streets
When: Sunday at 8 p.m.
