Massive 33-Story Hotel Planned Near Rockefeller Center
The developer Exell has filed plans to build a new 33-story, 450-foot hotel tower just steps away from Rockefeller Center.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A developer filed permits with the city last week to construct a new 33-story hotel tower just steps away from Rockefeller Center.
Extell, the megadeveloper that helped create the "Billionaire's Row" of luxury skyscrapers near Central Park South, filed permits last Friday for the new building at 32 West 48th St. A six-story building that formerly occupied the site was recently demolished.
Plans for the new, 456-foot tower call for 534 hotel rooms spread out over more than 168,000 square feet. The site is directly across the street from Rockefeller Plaza.
