A Photo Tribute to Madison Square Park, Pristine Urban Oasis
A view of the Flatiron Building, beautifully manicured grounds and a Shake Shack. What more could you ask for in a New York City park?
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — One of New York City’s greatest treasures is its parks system, offering serene spaces that offer a much-needed refuge from the lightning-fast pace, people-packed streets and general stresses of urban living.
On a sweltering Sunday during the stifling weekend heat wave, one could find carefree young couples; doting parents; dog walkers and their canine chums; an outgoing violin-playing busker named Antonio who moved here from Palermo, Sicily; and a remarkably friendly peanut-toting squirrel all enjoying the environs of Madison Square Park.
Situated among the pricey enclaves of NoMad and the Flatiron District, the picturesque and well-maintained green space sits between Fifth and Madison avenues and 23rd and 26th streets. There’s even an on-site Shake Shack.
