Picky Midtown Bank Robber Demands 'Just $50s and $100s'
The strategy worked for the robber, who made off with $1200 on Monday.
MIDTOWN, NY — One bank robber had an agenda as he knocked off a Santander bank in Midtown on Monday. Police say the suspect walked into the bank, told the teller he had a gun and dropped one request to the teller: "Just $50s and $100s."
The robbery took place at 10:25 a.m. on Monday at the bank location at 711 Third Avenue, between 44th and 45th streets. The teller complied with the suspect, handing over $1,200 before fleeing the bank.
Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20s, about 5-foot-10, and he has a tattoo on his hand. He was wearing a black jacket, black winter hat and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.
