MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A West Village restaurant that suddenly closed in 2019 will reopen this month after finding a new space in Midtown's Theater District, business owners announced this week.

Mediterranean restaurant Nisí will debut at its new location at 250 W. 47th St. between Seventh and Eighth avenues on Jan. 29, owner Mike Himani said in a statement. The kitchen will be helmed by executive chef Nikola Karvelas, whose menu incorporates dishes and flavors from countries such as Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Israel.

"We're so excited to make Nisí's new home in the theater district. We wanted to keep the space simple yet beautiful. A clean, bright space that provides a refuge from the hustle and bustle of Times Square," Himani said.

The restaurant will occupy a two-level space featuring blue, green, white, and metallic accents designed to resemble a Greek coastal town. The main bar and dining room are on the first floor, and a private dining room that can be rented out will be located above.

Customers at Nisí can order a la carte or take advantage of special menus such as a two-course lunch for $29 or a three-course pre-theater dinner for $45. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight on Monday through Thursday, from 11-12 a.m, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to midnight on Sundays.
