A NEW REALITY: Tech Summit for Girls
Neighborhood:
Chelsea
What: A daylong summit for girls aged 10-17, with a goal “to spark innovative creativity in the minds of young marginalized girls from NYC communities to consider careers in STEM.”
Where: SAP NYC, 30th Street and 10th Avenue at Hudson Yards
When: Saturday at 8 a.m.

Exploring the Remnants of Five Points
Neighborhood:
Lower Manhattan
What: A walking tour of one of New York City’s best-known former slums that was the center of all kinds of seedy activity throughout the 19th century. Learn about the history of Five Points, take a walk through the streets of Chinatown where it was once located and get an exclusive look at one of the city’s first buildings, erected in 1824.
Where: Tour meets outside the New York City Civil Court, Centre Street at White Street
When: Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Flame Con

Rooftop Films Presents “The Breaker Upperers”

What: A film about two best friends who break up couples for cash. When one friend develops a guilty conscience, the whole friendship comes unglued. Event includes a pre-screening, live musical performance and post-movie Q&A session.

Wine Tasting Sail
Neighborhood:
Lower Manhattan
What: Sail the seas aboard an 80-year-old class schooner and guest wine experts lead a tasting, featuring samples from some of our nation’s oldest and most well-known cellars. This two-hour sail also includes food pairings and views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and more.
